River Island reveals trending wedding guest outfits

Natalie Fuorvito, the fashion lead at High Street brand River Island shares her advice for wedding guests this season, along with popular products trending on the site.

Natalie says, "Get a feel for the vibe of the wedding. Before deciding on my wedding guest look I always consider the dress code which is often stated on the invitation. If not, the design of the invite and choice of venue can give you a clue about the general feel of the wedding."

Natalie also recommends expressing your personality with show-stopping silhouettes. She says, "Whether you like to wear vibrant bright colours or opt for softer pastel shades, weddings are the perfect time to experiment with colour."

Natalie also suggests considering the fabric and colour of your outfit. She tells us, "You want to look your best at a wedding but it's also important to feel comfortable in what you're wearing. Choosing natural, breathable fabrics such as cotton and silk, especially during the warmer months, means you're likely to be kept cool. Whereas if you're worried about feeling cold, pick something that covers more skin."

It's also important to choose an appropriate outfit and footwear for the wedding venue. Natalie says, "A block heel provides the best of both worlds - style and comfort - and is grass-friendly! Something less structured means you're more likely to be able to sit down, eat and dance all day long, while evening guests can afford to get a little more slinky and sultry with a show-stopping slip dress."

Finally, wear something that makes you feel your best. "Whether you stay true to your style by accentuating your favourite features or you use the celebration as a chance to experiment with different colours and styles - my top tip is to be playful with fashion and choose an outfit that makes you feel confident so you can concentrate on having fun!"
